Done with the Kite Runner! There are so many reasons why!!
Here are some:
1. I love how it wasn't the cookie-cutter type of predictable story, a boy finds his inner-self...
2. I was quite a challenge to keep reading when I arrived at the part of which Hassan is raped..it was so hard to read, and I can not imagine what it was like for other people to read this and even for the author to make a descision to put that into the book.
3. I found some parts very sad especially when Hassan, his wife and Baba died.
Some parts are definitely difficult to read...
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think the author put that part in the book, or made Assef's character so violent and perverted in the first place? How were Assef's actions different than his "beliefs" as a Taliban leader -- and what is the author's message there?
